Sev (సన్న కారప్పూస, செவ், सेव )

Sev( సన్నకారప్పూస, செவ், सेव ) Is made of gram flour  wich is used to top almost all chaats as it is very fine and also eaten as such .  These save is just prepared by 2 ingredients such as gram flour and salt but very tasty .

These can be prepared in  various flavors too such as palak sev, garlic sev, pepper sev etc.

Calories ( 180K cals), Carbohydrates (15g), Protein (6g), Fat (10g).

Ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 cups Gram Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp Asafoetida
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Oil for frying

Method:

  1. Mix well all ingredients except oil.
  2. Add sufficient water and make soft dough.
  3. Pour oil in a kadhai and heat.
  4. Press the dough out as sev using the fine save mold directly into the oil.
  5. Fry till they turn crispy and golden brown.
  6. Spicy Sev is ready.

Other Variants: 1. Sev, 2. Gathiya, 3. Papdi, 4. Ratlami Sev, 5. Bhavnagri, mota sev, nylon sev, sanna karapoosa, ompodi , using ajwain powder.
