Gobi Manchurian (గోబీ మంచురియన్, கோபி மஞ்சுரியன், गोब मंचूरियन) The ever popular “Manchurian” is an Indian Chinese dish. Indian Chinese cuisine is the adaptation of Chinese seasoning and cooking techniques to suite Indian tastes. It can be made in 2 ways as wet and dry.

  • Cauliflower 1 whole of medium size , cut into florets
  • Wash the cauliflower florets well under running water-in a pan (add boiling water and salt and soak the florets in it for about5 minutes).
  • Onion    1
  • Capsicum    1
  • Garlic    4 tbsps
  • Ginger     2 tbsps
  • Spring onions    3-4 tbsps
  • Green chillies    4 tbsps
  • Soya sauce   2 tbsp
  • Green chilly sauce    2 tbsp
  • Tomato sauce    3 tbsp
  • Vinegar    1 tsp
  • Oil   as required

Method :

  1. Prepare a batter with the ingredients adding enough water to resemble a bajji/pakora batter.
  2. In a wok,heat enough oil for deep frying the cauliflower.
  3. Dip each floret into the batter and deep fry till golden brown.
  4. In another kadai,add 2-3 tbsp oil and add chopped onions,capsicum,green chillies,ginger and garlic chopped.
  5. Saute for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add all the sauces-soya sauce,green chilly sauce and tomato sauce,and vinegar.
  7. Mix well and add the fried florets.
  8. Add salt if required.
  9. Keep stirring till the sauce coats well on the gobi.
  10. Add chopped spring onions and serve hot!
